The lessons for this series will be group lessons. This creates an engaging way to enjoy learning with others as well as inspires the other players to give their best. I've found in my studies that my classmates were always the ones who pushes me to be at my best more than any other influence.

The saxophone, comparatively speaking, is not too difficult compared to other wind instruments. Getting a sound out of the saxophone isn't too difficult, but controlling it takes a lot of work.

The main books I use are the Arthur Hegvik book "Modern Course for the Saxophone". I also like the Paul DeVille Book "Universal Method For Saxophone". I also really like the Lennie Neilhaus "Jazz Conception" books as well as "48 Famous Studies for Saxophone" By Ferling. If you want to play anything else that you know of of or hear, we can do that as well if you have the music for it.

This class is meant for beginners. You will be amongst players who are all trying to improve, regardless of their experiences. The best way to move past the beginner stage is to enjoy the process, be honest with yourself about your progress, and not get discouraged. Even after the first or second class, you will see and feel a noticeable improvement to your playing.

Tuition for the 16-class program is non-refundable once the program begins, because the class schedule, studio reservation, and instructor time are secured for all enrolled students.

If the program does not reach the minimum of 3 students, all payments will be fully refunded.

Because this is a group program, missed classes cannot be refunded or rescheduled.

However, practice guidance or recap materials may be offered when possible.

Late enrollment is not available. Students must register before the start date so the group can learn together.

If the instructor needs to cancel a class, a make-up class will be scheduled, or an additional date will be added at the end.

Yes! After all 16 classes, the group will participate in a final performance at Jinny’s Music Studio.

The 16-class Saxophone Group Program will begin on January 8th, 2026.

Enrollment closes on January 3rd, 2026 or when the class reaches 8 students, whichever comes first.

This allows time to:

• Confirm minimum enrollment (3 students)

• Prepare materials

• Finalize seating, music assignments, and room setup

The Saxophone Group Class begins on January 8, 2026 and meets every Thursday from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Each session is 2 hours, and the program runs for 16 weeks, ending with a final group performance in late April 2026.
