Teaching Philosophy
As a piano teacher, my goal is to inspire a lifelong love and appreciation for music in every student. I believe music education goes far beyond learning notes and technique — it's a journey of self-expression, discipline, creativity, and personal growth.
With over 10 years of teaching experience, I’ve found that while every student is unique, a thoughtful, consistent approach to reading and learning music leads to lasting success. My top priority is to create a nurturing and encouraging environment where students develop not only strong technique but also a confident, musical approach to the piano.
To me, technique isn’t just about hitting the right notes — it’s about playing with intention and expression. This ability forms the foundation for healthy, expressive, and confident piano playing.
I take a well-rounded approach to instruction, combining technique, theory, sight-reading, listening, and performance practice. While building solid fundamentals is essential, I also guide students in exploring musical interpretation, helping them connect emotionally with their pieces and understand the composer’s intent and historical context.
Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement are at the heart of my teaching. I value open communication with students and families, creating a collaborative and supportive learning space both in lessons and at home.
Whether a student dreams of a professional music career or simply wants to enjoy playing, I tailor lessons to meet their individual goals. My mission is to equip each student with the skills, confidence, and joy to carry music with them for life — whether performing, collaborating, or finding peace at the piano.
