About Caleb Dillon-Murray

Caleb Dillon-Murray is a saxophonist and composer from Half Moon Bay, CA. He studied music at San Jose State University, Hope College, and The University of South Florida, with degrees in Jazz Studies and Jazz Composition. His latest album, "The Place To Be", is an incredible virtuosic, immersive experience that must be heard to believe. Caleb is one of the most musically eclectic saxophonists in the Bay Area, as he has performed in jazz ensembles, reggae, country, hip-hop, tango, and rock bands. He has performed at festivals all over the world including the Umbria, Vienne, Wigan, Burmingham, and La Spezia. He also enjoys performing and composing classical saxophone repertoire when it is called for. When he's not playing music, Caleb loves spending time with his family, playing basketball, or trying to become a better cook.

Teaching Philosophy

Caleb's teaching is simple: we want to learn what we enjoy, so let's make learning music enjoyable. He doesn't have all the answers regarding music, but what Caleb does want to do is to inspire the best version of yourself. Music is simple conceptually: play the right notes, the right way, at the right time, but the reality to achieve that is much more difficult. Caleb's goal is to simplify musical concepts for students to understand better and reignite the joy in performing for yourself and for others.
