Jinny's Music Studio is a music studio in San Jose built on a simple belief: music education should be for everyone. Students learn in a room built for real music-making, where a true ear is trained from the very first lesson.

Our music theory teachers are local instructors who partner with us because they believe in that mission. Hector leads group theory classes for 3rd–12th graders, and Emily offers private one-on-one lessons for all ages. Meet them below, and sign up early for group lessons.
Meet Our Teachers
Composer & educator · B.M. in Music Composition, San José State University. Hector's music has been performed by the Golden City Brass Quintet, ECHO Saxophone Quartet, and San José State's Wind Ensemble. He brings over five years of teaching experience across the Bay Area.

Berklee-trained · AP Music Theory 5/5 · Pianist. Emily is completing a Bachelor of Music in Professional Music at Berklee College of Music, with coursework in tonal harmony, counterpoint, ear training and arranging.

Private Lessons
Emily teaches private music theory lessons for students of every age and level, from complete beginners to those preparing for college music programs. Lessons are one-on-one and built around each student's own goals — ear training, sight-reading, harmony, and musicianship are tailored individually rather than following a fixed curriculum.
Group Classes
Hector teaches group music theory classes for 3rd–12th grade students in three levels. Classes build ear training, sight-reading, and hands-on composition together, so students learn theory by hearing it, playing it, and writing original music at every level. Early sign-up is open now.
Hear It, Play It, Write It
Music theory comes alive at the piano. In a studio built for real music-making, students connect what they learn on the page to what they hear and play, whether in a group class or a private lesson.
Ear Training & Composition
Whether in Hector's group classes or Emily's private lessons, every student builds the core skills of musicianship: hearing what's on the page, reading music fluently, and writing original music. Ear training, sight-reading, and composition exercises go hand in hand with the theory, at every level.
