Learn to set up sound, select and drop records at the right moment, blend two songs into a seamless transition, read a song's arrangement on the fly, and start scratching. Ages 10 and up. About the event
Ages 10 and up. NO experience necessary. NO equipment needed. Limited to 10 students.
Two turntables, a DJ mixer, a crate of records, and three hours to learn how DJs actually do it. Our instructor brings the full setup into the studio and every student gets real time on the decks.
What You'll Learn
• Setting up sound and using a pair of turntables with a mixer • Selecting records and dropping the next song at the right point, like right after the hook • Blending: playing two songs at once and transitioning cleanly into the next record • Song arrangement and format, so you can read a record you don't know well and know what's coming • Beginning and intermediate scratching
