Inside Jinny's: The Professional Recording Equipment Powering Every Session

Walk into most professional recording studios and you'll find gear built for major-label budgets — the kind of equipment most musicians only read about. At Jinny's, we've built exactly that caliber of studio. The difference is who gets to use it.
We believe the room and the tools are just as much a part of your preparation as your technique. A great take isn't only about how you play — it's about whether the space and the signal chain let that playing come through honestly. We've spent the last several months expanding our gear, our room, and what membership actually includes, so it felt like time to walk through what's actually in the studio.

An Analog-to-Digital Signal Chain, Built on Purpose
Most home setups run entirely digital, start to finish. Ours doesn't, and that's deliberate. Every signal starts through our Neve 1073 OPX preamps — the same analog warmth that's shaped recordings for decades — before it ever touches a digital converter. From there, it runs through a Universal Audio Apollo x8p interface, which gives us the clarity, low latency, and flexibility that all-analog studios can't match.
That hybrid chain feeds a mic collection built for a real range of instruments and voices: Neumann U87 Ai and KM 184s for detail and air, an AKG C414 for its flexible polar patterns, a Telefunken M60 for warmth on strings and voice, and a Universal Audio LA-610 MkII when a session calls for character on the way in. It's the kind of mic locker you'd expect at a major-label studio — not a rental-room starter kit.

A Room Built From European Oak and Maple
Gear only gets you so far if the room fights it. Our space is built with imported European oak and maple, chosen specifically for how it moves sound — the kind of natural, even reverb that digital plugins try to approximate and never quite reach. It's not a "treated" room in the acoustic-foam sense. It's a room designed, materially, to sound good before a single microphone goes up. That matters for every instrument that comes through, and it shows up in every take — cleaner attack, a more honest decay, and a tone that holds up whether you're recording an audition tape or a full ensemble.

Two Cameras, Two Angles, One Take
Recording isn't only audio anymore — auditions, portfolios, and social content all need video that matches the sound. We shoot on a Canon EOS R6, specifically chosen for its detail at 60 FPS, so bow work, fingerings, and embouchure hold up in close-up. A second angle runs on our Panasonic HC-X2000 4K camcorder or Canon XF605, giving every session two synced angles instead of one flat shot.
16 Channels, and Growing
We've expanded our board to 16 channels to keep pace with the mic collection and camera setup — which means more simultaneous inputs for ensembles, more flexibility for multi-camera shoots, and more room to grow the studio without hitting a ceiling. This isn't a one-time upgrade; it's the base we're building the next phase of the studio on.

What Membership Actually Includes
Members get unlimited mixing, mastering, and video takes synced to audio — not a capped number of revisions. In practice, that means during a vocal session, we can live-mix and master while you're still running takes, and sync multiple video passes to whichever audio take actually sounds right, instead of you re-recording just to match a better video angle. It's built to save musicians time, not add another round-trip to the process.
The Same Setup, Now On the Road
Everything above used to mean coming to us. It doesn't anymore. Our mobile recording kit now travels with the same caliber of gear — a Focusrite preamp, your choice of up to 8 microphones, and the cases to transport it all without losing the quality of the in-studio setup people already know. If your session needs to happen at your venue, the studio comes to you.

Available Every Day, For Every Musician
All of this — the signal chain, the room, the cameras, the expanded board, mobile recording — is available seven days a week, whether you're a studio member or booking a single session. Major-label gear shouldn't be reserved for major labels. That's the whole idea behind Jinny's.
